Under $100: Best home decor buys for January

Here are the purchases we've added to our virtual carts this month—all under $100!

To welcome the new year we're looking for easy and inexpensive ways to freshen our spaces. Luckily these small, but beautiful options are all priced under $100—so you don't have to feel guilty about your latest home decor purchase.

Coasting

null

Coaster set, $35, drakegeneralstore.ca.

It doesn't take much to brighten up your coffee table. We love the two-tone marbled effect of these coasters that will go with pretty much every decor style.

Let there be light

null

Barometer work lamp, $40, ikea.com.

If there's one thing that will motivate us to stay focused and get to work, it's a beautiful desk or home office. This work lamp is simple and slightly retro—so it's definitely a good buy.

 Potted plants

null

Cactus planter, $34, urbanoutfitters.com.

Okay, so this planter is a little on the nose, but it's a cute and fun way to update any potted cacti. Plus, the detail on the side—those knobs—is always where you water your succulent so it gets what it needs right at the roots.

Dinner party ready

null

Silver place card holders, $18, crateandbarrel.com.

While you may be all hosted-out thanks to the recent holiday season, we recommend prepping for the next time you want to have a dinner party with these simple silver placecard holders. It's the little things that make you an expert hostess!

Embrace imperfection

null

Mend metallic black serving bowl, $100, cb2.com.

Wabi sabi (the ancient Japanese celebration of imperfection and impermanence) is making it's way to our decor! We love the look of this bowl that appears to be "mended" with gold, showing that what can often be seen as a flaw, is actually quite beautiful.

Ahoy!

null

Mainstays Stripe Window Curtains, $30, walmart.ca.

If you're dreaming of the ocean, might we suggest a little nautical touch to your space? These bold drapes are surprisingly versatile, mixing well with different palettes and patterns.

Out of sight

null

Jute Laundry Basket with Lid, $50, hm.com.

Laundry hampers are surprisingly expensive, so when we find one under $100, we have to share it. This jute one from H&M comes in two shades, but we love the drama of black. Pick up one (or two!) to hide your dirty clothes in something stylish.

For the kiddos

null

Felt elephant head, $40, simons.ca.

Okay, so maybe this felt animal head won't work in your family room—but it will look super cute in a kid's bedroom. Adding something other than painting and prints on the wall adds a ton of interest—and in case you need another reason, elephants can often symbolize luck!

Tick, tock

null

Mercury Row Glass Marble Wall Clock, $30, wayfair.com.

It can be hard to justify a purchase when you know you'll reach for your phone to tell the time more than you'll glance at a clock. But when the clock in question is only $30, features a stunning marble face and luxe-looking brass hands, it's also hard to say no.

Fresh and clean

null

Brela Napkins, $32, serenaandlily.com.

You can't go wrong with a set of simple napkins, and we love the border detailing on these beauties.

Cheese, please

null

Cheese Knife Set, $38, anthropologie.com.

If you love cheese as much as we do—and we love it alot—then it's a necessity to have beautiful cheese boards and utensils. This mixed metal set will wow any guests—if the cheese itself hasn't already done that.
