How to take your favourite pieces and turn them into holiday outfits
Your favourite jeans, your go-to sneakers, a comfy pair of leggings, your oft-worn knit sweater or your plain white tee—there's a way to make them all holiday-party appropriate.
There's a reason why you want to wear your favourite pair of jeans over and over again. They're familiar and comfortable and you probably feel amazing in them. So despite the upcoming season of holiday parties and fanicer outfits, we would never tell you not to wear them. Or your favourite white t-shirt. Or your favourite leggings, comfy sneakers or oversized knit sweater.
And with a few style tips you can wear them all to whatever holiday festivities are headed your way. Here's how we're styling some of our basic wardrobe go-tos so that they sparkle and shine this holiday season.
Your favourite pair of denim
Look for ways to spruce up a pair of relaxed jeans with texture, print and embellishment. Think sequins, leather, suede, animal print and metallics. You'll find us pairing our own denim with a fun and festive top like this sequinned t-shirt and comfortable but eye-catching booties. Plus, a bag in a rich hue and a simple coat complete this standout—but undeniably relaxed outfit.

Your go-to sneakers
Luckily for you, the athleisure trend has made sneakers acceptable to wear almost anywhere. Which is why it's not unheard of to rock your best pair to a holiday soirée. The key? Keeping everything else feminine and structured. We'll be opting for a pair of cropping trousers, under a printed mini dress or tunic. Add ladylike accessories, like a glitzy pair of earrings and a top-handle bag, and you've got outfit gold.

Your comfiest knit
Cozy knits can be extremely holiday approprinte—even if you do need to fancy it up. we recommend embracing femininity in a monochromatic palette. We'll be keeping it light and bright (like our holiday issue fashion story) by pairing a grey knit with a midi skirt in the same hue—bonus points for festive tulle. Then, pretty printed flats, an embellished bag and a pop of colour in the form of jewellery complete the look.

The perfect white t-shirt
You already know this, but you can in fact where a white t-shirt anywhere. We recommend opting to include this piece in a suit (or suit-inspired) look. Look for subtle embellishments—a velvet blazer and metallic printed pants update an otherwise simple black silhouette. For added fun, opt for quirky jewellery like asymmetrical earrings.

Comfy—and stretchy—leggings
If you're going to wear your yoga or lounge tights to a holiday get-together, we have a few recommendations. Keep your top long to keep it classy and make sure to accessorize. We also recommend picking up a pair of sock boots in a similar hue to your leggings to keep the look sleek. We'll be pairing ours with a blousy tunic, suede bag and fun earrings for a festive look that will accomodate our holiday dinner.
