When taking in the beauty looks from the MET Gala (the fashion event of the year), there are styles looks we’d actually want (or be able to) recreate at home. Which is why when we saw Naomi Watts, dressed in Burberry, with a classic and elegant hairstyle it seemed fresh and sophisticated—and also something we wanted to rock to our next party.

Celebrity hair stylist and Pantene Global Ambassador, Danilo, created the simple but statement-making hairstyle. “It’s kind of a classic, Hollywood glamour look meets the beach,” says Danilo, “I wanted that big dramatic sweep, but I also knew that I wanted a contemporary feel.”

The look is easier to achieve than you might think, and is perfect for any upcoming parties, events or date nights. With a little help from Danilo, here’s how to achieve the sculptural but soft look at home.

Step 1

Apply a protection cream to damp hair and blow dry your hair with a round brush. The goal here is to create big, full hair so if you have fine hair you can also add a volumizer to your damp locks.

Step 2

Once hair is dry, part hair on the side. Working with an inch section of hair at a time, curl hair with a one-inch curling iron, misting with hair spray as you go. For the side with more hair, curl the hair towards your face.

Step 3

Allow to completely cool and then tousle gently with your fingers. Pull back the side with less hair behind your ear and pin in place (Danilo used a sparkly comb for Naomi’s look).
