Tart traditions: Bala Cranberry Festival. Fall fairs and food festivals are plentiful all across Canada once autumn arrives. One of my favourite is the Bala Cranberry Festival which I attended last year.  The Cranberry Festival in Bala, Ontario, this year runs October 17 to 19. It's worth checking out, especially if you have a yen for cranberry recipes. A few of our Canadian Living readers have asked, "What does a cranberry bog look like?" Here are some photos of the cranberry harvest in Bala and of the festival itself:
