Should you boycott your child's math homework? These parents are.
Parents at a London, Ontario elementary school are taking an unusual role: They're refusing to help their kids with math homework. As reported in the London Free Press:
Parents are so frustrated that some, including Mills, have stopped helping their children with what she calls “fluffy” math homework that’s confusing children and making them lose confidence. The purpose of the boycott is to make it clear to teachers that the kids are not learning the curriculum as it's being taught, rather than shoring up what's happening (or not happening) in the classroom. We've covered the controversy over math curricula before, but this is an interesting way for parents to handle it. Do you think it's a good choice to teach your kids to protest rather than completing school assignments?
