Instead of traditional carolling, you'll hear drum rolls to announce the birth of Jesus. 2. There will be candles – but fireworks are part of the tradition, too. 3. Friends tell me it is customary for Venezuelans, even if they're not ardent church-goers, to attend about nine carol services throughout the advent season. 4.
