Really?! Can my cousin be my inspiration?

If you are looking for the Saturday Afternoon Book Club, click here. Well, we don't actually call him Vinny (we usually call him Vincent Altobello, because that's his name), except sometimes we do, because it reminds us of the movie and really, who didn’t love the movie? [HTML1] Anyway, I digress. And he’s not really like that. He has a passion for music, and he’s the kind of person that loves what he can create with the words and the melodies. He treats people well, he loves his family and friends and they know it. And he’s an entertainer. When we were kids (and now, as adults), we killed ourselves laughing over his impersonations. He’s so good that one I thought he was on the phone pretending to be my uncle, but it was really my uncle.
Any one of these things may seem small. But they aren’t. They make his life and our lives a better place. But it's his spirituality and his creative spirit that bubbles up to the surface that I find so inspiring. [caption id="attachment_11578" align="aligncenter" width="300" caption="It’s true, my cousin is on the road to inspiring me – and lots of other people! Photo: FreeDigitalPhotos.net"] [/caption] Lately, he's started creative writing, and occassionally sends me some stuff to read that makes me stop and think. Like this one: Better Late Unfortunately, what’s done is done and can’t be undone Thankfully, what is not yet done can still be done. And this one: The Biggest Hug Circumstance sits Imagination soars Circumstance wallows Intention transcends Circumstance fades Hope endures Circumstance distances Faith embraces... Never let go. This week, he sent me a longer piece, a lovely yet sad story about a man named Prepared, who is trying to get his life together, and closes the door on the children of a friend named Later. It's a simple tale with an interesting perspective. My favourite line: He felt horribly about closing the door on those children, as he did know their father. But Later had been such a destructive force in his life, that to acknowledge that he even knew him, even in these circumstances, was just too painful, let alone risky, as he knew his old friend would stop at nothing to infiltrate his life once again. So clever. It is a nugget of inspiration borne of creativity that won’t be pushed down. I’m encouraging him to start a blog, with posts that will inspire people to live their life with love and passion, making the world a better place. At the very least, to make them stop and think for a minute. How about you? Do you feel you’re living your life with love and passion?
