I think I just became a San Jose Sharks fan
Lifelong Sharks fan, 17 year old Sam Tageson was signed to a one-day contract with the San Jose Sharks last Tuesday. He practiced with the team in the morning and took to the ice through the trademark shark head before San Jose's game with the Florida Panthers. He even stood on the blue line during the national anthem.
He was brought to tears by a heartfelt standing ovation from the crowd after he was introduced by San Jose's public announcer.

Sam was born with a congenital heart disorder and has been playing hockey since the age of six despite the advice of doctors. "It's supposed to be debilitating," said his mother Lisa Mills. "They said he would be the child that would never ride a bicycle, never do any of that. he rides a skateboard. He plays hockey. The doctors all through the years have said give him golf clubs, take the hockey stick away. We tried. It doesn't work."
"No way to top today" he told reporters.
“We’re happy to have him as part of our team,” Sharks head coach Todd McLellan said. “He participated in the whole day and the events. The Make a Wish Foundation does tremendous things for people that need it. We’re happy to participate. We’re glad we can be part of his day.”
