Heartwarming story of the day: Cristiano Ronaldo, FIFA world cup soccer player sports zig-zag haircut in honour of young patient
Cristiano Ronaldo may arguably be the best soccer player in the world today. The
FIFA Ballon d'Or 2013 Award winner has achieved superstar status on the field and after reading this, you'll find that he may very well have achieved superstar status in your heart too. If you caught this past Sunday's
FIFA World Cup USA vs Portugal game, you would have seen Portugal's captain sporting a new do. He shaved the side of his head in a zig-zag pattern which garnered odd comments and looks from his fans. Twitter erupted with a range of reactions when his new look was revealed to the world. According to various
unconfirmed reports, it appears that the zig zag pattern on his head was meant to mimic the scars of a 10 month old boy that had recently undergone brain surgery. Erik Ortiz Cruz suffers from cortical dysplasia, a condition that can lead to as many as 30 seizures a day. Earlier this year, Cristiano offered to foot the bill for his young fan's surgery after little Erik captured his heart. Erik underwent his successful surgery in March. A beautiful tribute to a beautiful boy and a wonderful warm your heart moment out of the FIFA World Cup games.
