I've always loved pink, as evidenced by all the pink at my wedding almost 20 years ago. I still like pink A LOT, but I've made a dramatic shift: I'm learning to love green. Not just as a colour, but as a way of life. Now I get excited when I see things like Canadian Living's April "Green Issue," the "Green Challenge" and "Green Living Blog" currently on their website. I just signed up on canadianliving.com and received a free download of a 52-Week Go Green plan. Now I'll get lots of free information on green topics, delivered to me, by what I like to call "green-mail" (e-mail). My favorite books include The Green Book by Rogers and Kostigen and Green For Life by Gillian Deacon. I just ordered Go Green, Live Rich by David Bach from Random House, it's sure to become another fave.I think there should be new words written for the song "It's Not Easy Being Green," because it really is easy being green. It's about making informed greener choices. Not only can you save some green (money), you can also save the planet! Talk about green power! At the school where I teach I started a "Green Team," an environmental club comprised of students who are committed to making the world a greener place. We've completed many projects, in fact I call my students my "Green Machine" because we've been able to do so much greening together. I've bought some really cute green clothes and I think I'm sending subliminal green messages when I wear them! At home my husband and kids know we're moving from lighter to darker shades of green every day with every step we take. So move over, pink ... green is here to stay!
