Tiny Washi Tape Valentine
Here they are, combining two of the most ubiquitous craft trends
in the world: tiny,
washi tape and baker's twine Valentine's from the peeps at
How About Orange. [caption id="attachment_11754" align="aligncenter" width="300"]
Trendiest. Valentine. Ever.[/caption] Cute, right? Of course they are. All they need are milk bottles with chevron-decorated paper straws set as a backdrop to their trendy spendor. Missing a moustache, perhaps, but adorable all the same. What I like about these little love notes is that they bring to mind the calling cards - precursors to the business card but
so much less bourgeois, often including nothing but a name or a coat of arms - that 18th century aristocrats and royalty would have their personal footmen deliver to announce their presence and the desire for future social interaction between interested parties. Fabulous idea. Like sending a friend request on Facebook, but SO much classier. If you want to make some of these minimalist missives, you can find the tutorial and the printable
here. I love how they even thought to cut tiny notches on the sides of each card to keep the twine in place. It's all in the details. [caption id="attachment_11753" align="aligncenter" width="300"]
Tiny notches keep the twine from slipping.[/caption] Now if only footmen were more easy to come by....
