Tiny Patchwork on a Tuesday
Hi friends,
I realized this morning that I can't share any of what I made over the weekend, because it's all for the magazine and I don't want to ruin the surprise! Rats. The only non-work-related crafting I did was to knit half a gauge swatch for my yellow sweater – not exactly a huge accomplishment – and my quilting bee blocks are still hollering at me from the sidelines. Tonight, guys: seriously.
Aside from looming deadlines, I've been bitten by the quilting bug, and it seems that all I want to do right now is whip up a summertime quilt. I've got a stack of fabric washed and ready to go; all I'd need is a new spool of cotton thread and some dedicated time with the sewing machine. (And a major injection of patience, but I'm trying to think positively here.)
Some patchwork and quilting links that have caught my eye recently...
- One-inch squares in 49-patch blocks from Moving Hands, a quilt that will be full of stories.
- This hexagon quilt by Quilting Bloke (via MovingHands) – that's some serious get-it-done-itude!
- The Ollalieberry Ice Cream Quilt by Alicia Paulson (Posie Gets Cozy). I look at this pattern all the time, and I think it might be time for me to buy it. There is something so sweet and simple about this, it's perfect for an early summer project.
