Spring sewing inspiration
It's interesting to me to see that what I thought was a lack of interest in sewing might actually have been frustration due to a loud/troublesome sewing machine. Suddenly I'm poring over sewing magazines, blogs, and books again, thinking about buying fabric, making plans. It's making me smile.
I recently received a couple of sewing books to review – Alabama Chanin's Alabama Studio + Design and Denyse Schmidt's Modern Quilts, Traditional Inspiration – and I'm finding lots of inspiration there. I'm also liking the look of Simple Modern Sewing, a Japanese dress book that's been translated into English. And then there are the quilts. So many beautiful, lovely, wonderful quilts!
What are you sewing (or thinking about sewing) these days?
