Hi friends, As promised, I'm here with the pattern for the change purse. Please note that this pattern was provided to me by Patons, so if you have any questions, it's best to contact them (believe me, you don't want my advice when it comes to crochet!). I'll be adding a photo of the finished purse later today so that you know what you're getting into. Have fun! Crochet Change Purse purse MEASUREMENTS Approx 5.25 ins [13 cm] wide x 3.5ins [9 cm] high. MATERIALS Patons Grace (50 g /1.75 oz; 125 m/136 yds) Contrast A (62205 Aquifer)    1 ball Contrast B (6222 Lemon Lime)    1 ball Contrast C (62307 Orchid)    1 ball Contrast D (62440 Lotus)        1 ball Note: 1 ball each of A, B, C and D will make 3 Change Purses. Size 3.5 mm (U.S. D or 4) crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge. 5 inch [12.5 cm] zipper. 9 inch [23 cm] square piece of lining fabric (if desired). Matching sewing thread. GAUGE 22 sc and 24 rows = 4 ins [10 cm]. STITCH GLOSSARY Beg = Beginning. Ch(s) = Chain(s). Cont = Continue(ity). Dc = Double crochet. Hdc = Half double crochet Pat = Pattern. Rem = Remaining. Rep = Repeat. Rnd = Round. RS = Right side. Sc = Single crochet. Sl st = Slip stitch. Sp(s) = Space(s). St(s) = Stitch(es). WS = Wrong side. Yoh = Yarn over hook. INSTRUCTIONS Note: Ch 2 at beg of row does not count as hdc. First Side: With A, ch 32. 1st row: (WS). 1 hdc in 3rd ch from hook. 1 hdc in each ch to end of ch. Join B. Turn. 30 hdc. **2nd row: With B, ch 1. 1 sc in each hdc to end of row. Join C. Turn. 3rd row: With C, ch 2. 1 hdc in each of first 2 sc. *Ch 2. Miss next 2 sc. 1 hdc in each of next 2 sc. Rep from * to end of row. Join D. Turn. 4th row: With D, ch 1. 1 sc in each of first 2 hdc. *Keeping in front of next 2 ch and not working around them, work 1 dc in each of next 2 missed sts from last row. 1 sc in each of next 2 hdc. Rep from * to end of row. Join B. Turn. 5th row: With B, ch 2. 1 hdc in each st to end of row. Join C. Turn. 6th row: With C as 2nd row. Join D. Turn. 7th row: With D, as 3rd row. Join A. Turn. 8th row: With A, as 4th row. Join C. Turn. 9th row: With C, as 5th row. Join D. Turn. 10th row: With D, as 2nd row. Join A. Turn. 11th row: With A, as 3rd row. Join B. Turn. 12th row: With B, as 4th row. Join D. Turn. 13th row: With D, as 5th row. Join A. Turn. 14th row: With A, as 2nd row. Join B. Turn. 15th row: With B, as 3rd row. Join C. Turn. 16th row: With C, as 4th row. Join A. Turn. 17th row: With A, as 5th row. Fasten off.** Second Side: With WS of First Side facing, join A with sl st in first rem ch of foundation ch. Ch 2. Work 1 hdc in each rem ch across foundation ch. 30 hdc. Join B. Turn. Rep from ** to ** as given for First Side. FINISHING lining Lining (optional): Cut lining fabric to same shape as Purse, adding H inch [1.5 cm] seam allowance around all edges. Sew side seams by hand or machine. Fold top edges under H inch [1.5 cm]. Sew side seams of Purse. Sew in zipper. If desired, sew top edges of lining in position along zipper tape. Pull Tab: With C, ch 2. 1st rnd: 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Join B with sl st to first sc. 2nd rnd: With B, ch 1. 2 sc in each sc around. Join with sl st to first sc. Ch 4. Fasten off leaving a long end. Join to zipper pull: Thread end with ch 4 through hole in metal pull. Fasten securely.
