Guest Post: Tanis's December Daily Album
Last year, I came across the concept of Ali Edwards' December Daily Album Project. The goal of this project is to end up with a record and remembrance of the moments and traditions your family enjoys through the holiday season. (Ali explains the whole process and has sample pages on her blog here.)
I'm a card maker. I don't scrapbook. I didn't want to overwhelm myself on my first try at creating an album, so I decided NOT to do daily pages. I am choosing which memories are important and not worrying about adding to my album every day.
I prepared my album before December 1st so I can add my photos and memories as the month goes on.
I created my album (and yours can be whatever format YOU want) by cutting pieces of canvas, transparency sheets and box board in 6 x 6 inch squares and held it together with binder rings. I did some stamping, used patterned papers, did a bit of stitching and thew in some embellishments.
An important part of this project for me was stamping. I love stamping a lot and the December Daily stamp set by Technique Tuesday (full of dates and great phrases) was a central part of my design. This year's set is no longer available, but they will have a brand new one available for next holiday season.
You can check out my blog for updates on my project at my blog, Paper Canvas.
Thanks so much, Tanis! I'll look forward to seeing your finished album after the holidays!
