Giveaway #81: Stitch 'n Bitch Superstar Knitting
Hello again, This week I've got a treat for the Stitch 'n Bitch fans out there: a copy of
Superstar Knitting by Debbie Stoller.
I learned to knit long before the Stitch 'n Bitch books became a phenomenon that brought knitting to the forefront of crafty consciousness, so they didn't really have any impact on my own knitting development, but having had a peek at this book, I can see why people like them so much. Clear diagrams, good (sassy) writing, and projects that are definitely a world apart from the rather staid traditional designs that I found in the ancient how-t0-knit library books I read and re-read as a child.
Get a preview here. This book provides a solid introduction into things like cables, colour work, bead work and – the best part, I think – a chapter on designing your own patterns. Top that all off with 41 patterns by Debbie and her friends, and you've got a nice addition to your knitting library (or a fabulous gift for your favourite knitter!). For a chance to win this copy of Superstar Knitting, leave a comment on this post telling me what's at the top of your crafty Christmas wishlist this year. New scissors? A CriCut machine? Peace, quiet and time to knit – alone? Comments will be open until 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, December 5; I'll post a winner on December 6. Good luck!
