Pretty, isn't it?[/caption] Continuing down the pathway to pretty ombre embroidery floss tassels, next up is this dainty pearl-tipped tassel. I know you want to make one...
You Will Need: [caption id="attachment_12092" align="aligncenter" width="600"]
One skein of embroidery floss is enough for one tassel[/caption]
- Embroidery floss skeins
- Gold metallic thread
- Scissors
- Split rings and clasps
- Leather scraps
- Pearl beads
- Wrap the entire skein of embroidery floss around all four fingers of one hand. Cut two 5-inch lengths of floss from the end. [caption id="attachment_12099" align="aligncenter" width="600"] The more you wrap, the fatter the tassel[/caption]
- Tie one scrap in a knot through the top fold in the loop.
- Tie the second scrap length in a knot about ½ inch below the top knot.
- Snip the bottom loop threads.
- Feed a pearl through the top knotted threads.
- Wrap the metallic thread over the second knot a few times and knot. Trim ends.
- Thread the split ring or clasp (or both) through the top knotted scrap thread and knot. Tada! Instead of a split ring, you could attach an earring finding to make the first of a cute pair of pearl tassel earrings!
