What you need to know about your vitamins and supplements
From common allergens to ingredients, here's what to consider when you're choosing the supplement that's right for you.
While Canadians are refining their diets more and more—simplifying them and making sure they're free from over processed and unnecessary ingredients—the same can't always be said for the vitamins and supplements we take. In fact, the large array of options and brands available can leave people wondering which supplements to take and when. The good news: there are ways to support your health with high-quality, clean vitamins and supplements. Here are three issues to keep in mind.
Consider the "free from" messaging
Looking for a supplement that is free from artificial colours, preservatives and flavours is top of mind for so many of us. Reading the ingredient list on the label can help you understand if you've found the right brand.
Think about a cleaner supplement
It's worth making sure your supplements don't contain anything you're trying to reduce or avoid in your diet, such as GMOs; dairy products or lactose; gluten; or artificial flavours, colours or preservatives.
How accessible is the brand?
Picking a brand that is well-known and available at stores where you regularly shop will help you stay consistent with your supplements. If they're hard to get, you'll likely forget to replenish them when you run out.
Pick Sundown Naturals
