Pink grapefruits are the prettiest, but white grapefruits taste equally delicious. Serve with plain Balkan style or vanilla yogurt. If you like, you can omit the rum.

Cut each grapefruit in half crosswise. Using grapefruit knife, cut around inside of rind and around each segment to loosen.Arrange grapefruit, cut side up, in 13- x 9-inch (3.5 L) metal cake pan. (Make-ahead: Cover and refrigerate for up to 2 hours.) Drizzle with rum.
In small bowl, combine brown sugar, ginger and cinnamon; sprinkle evenly over grapefruit.
Broil, watching grapefruit closely and rotating pan if necessary to prevent sugar from burning, until bubbly and golden, about 6 minutes. Serve hot or at room temperature.
