Peel and core apples; cut each into 16 slices. Cut 4-foot (1.2 m) piece of heavy-duty foil; fold in half. Mound apples on 1 side close to centre; sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon. Fold foil over; fold in sides and seal to form packet. (Make-ahead: Let stand for up to 1 hour.)Place on grill over medium heat; close lid and grill until apples are tender, about 10 minutes. Open packet and stir gently to distribute cinnamon. Serve over ice cream.
