In large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, wheat bran, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice and salt.In separate bowl, beat eggs; blend in applesauce, milk, oil and vanilla. Pour over dry ingredients. Sprinkle with apples; stir just until dry ingredients are moistened.
Spoon into greased or paper-lined muffin cups, filling three-quarters full. Bake in centre of 375°F (190°C) oven until tops are firm to the touch, 20 to 25 minutes. Let cool in pan on rack for 5 minutes; transfer to rack and let cool.
